Registration Requirements

Returning students and new students must be registered through infoSNAP.
Follow these step-by-step directions on the link above to register your child before the first day of school. 



Children entering Kindergarten must be five (5) years old on or before September 1st. Children entering 1st Grade must be six (6) years old on or before September 1st.



All students enrolled in the Etowah County School System must live with a legal custodial parent/guardian. Extenuating circumstances must be approved by the superintendent.


All students enrolling in the Etowah County School System shall provide the following information:

  • Certified Birth Certificate or other form of certificate for age/verification
  • Valid Social Security Card (voluntary)
  • Proof of Immunization (Blue Immunization Card)
  • Proof of Custody when warranted
  • 2 Proofs of residence:
    • Copy of lease or mortgage agreement
    • Copy of current utility bills in a parents name
    • Property Tax Notice, Voter Registration Card
    • Copy of Parent's/Guardian's driver's license


If you do not have these, the school counselor or principal will assist you.



Students transferring to Highland Elementary School must bring his/her withdrawal form, current report card, and other required items from the previous school.



Parents withdrawing a student from school must notify the school office so the appropriate forms may be completed.  All indebtedness must be cleared and all textbooks and library materials must be returned.  A transfer slip and immunization form will be given to the student to take to his/her new school.
