About Mrs. Hamby

Hi!! I'm so glad you have decided to learn more about Highland Elementary's fourth grade! My name is Kimberly McCain Hamby and I am the fourth grade teacher. My husband, Ray, and I have one little girl, Parker Elizabeth, who is the light of our lives!

I have spent the majority of my teaching career at Highland Elementary School. This year will mark the beginning of my fourteenth year in education. In addition to teaching fourth grade, I have also previously taught third grade and Kindergarten.

I received an Associate's degree from Gadsden State Community College in 2003, a Bachelor's degree from Jacksonville State University in 2005, a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Alabama in 2007, a Master's degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of Alabama in 2015, and an Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership in 2017. As you can see, my love of learning is never ending. I hope to instill this same love of learning in my students as well!

I absolutely LOVE my job! Highland has such a special piece of my heart. I am extremely blessed to be surrounded by an awesome faculty and spectacular students!

If you need to contact me for any reason, please call the school at 256.546.7409 or e-mail me at kim_hamby@ecboe.org.

I look forward to hearing from you!
