Etowah County Board of Education libraries will be the center for teaching and learning. Etowah County Schools libraries support building the foundation today and tomorrow for all students to be Empowered, Challenged, and Successful.

MISSION

Etowah County Board of Education’s mission is to empower responsible citizens through a rigorous, high-quality relevant education in a safe, supportive, and student-centered environment. Etowah County Schools library media programs’ mission shall be accomplished in the following manner:

• By ensuring learners will be able to independently inquire, think critically, and to gain, create, and share knowledge.
• By providing real and virtual access to appropriate, high-quality resources and services during and outside of the school day.
• By providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats.
• By providing instructions to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas.
• By collaborating with other educators to design learning strategies and enhance curriculum development to meet the needs of individual learners to support student learning and achievement.
• By facilitating professional development for the learning community.
